1. Chennai Super Kings 

Chennai Super Kings have carried on the tradition of starting well in the tournament after winning their first match against Mumbai Indians on Saturday. They would look to keep the winning momentum going ahead of the game against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday.

Faf du Plessis and Ambati Rayudu played superb knocks in the last game. And, in a batting-friendly surface of Sharjah, both would be the ones to watch out for in their next match. Experienced campaigner, Shane Watson fell cheaply in the last game as he will look to get some runs under his belt. 

Exciting talent, Rituraj Gaikwad, has tested negative in his recent two tests. He is back with the squad but will he be available in the next game or not remains to be seen. In the absence of Dwayne Bravo, all-rounder Sam Curran made full use of the opportunity and made handy contributions with both bat and ball. Bravo will remain unavailable in the next game as well. 2. Rajasthan Royals 

After enduring a string of losses in 2019 IPL, RR gave the captaincy duties to Steve Smith midway through the tournament. The Australia cricketer will be leading the side for the whole tournament this year. Their batting stalwart, Ajinkya Rahane has been traded to Delhi Capitals. But this shouldn’t be a concern to them. The side is packed with a plethora of top-order players. What does concern them is their middle-order. 

With Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler and Steve Smith forming the top-order, Robin Uthappa might have to bat in the middle this time. However, for the first game against CSK, Buttler isn’t available due to quarantine rules. 

Ben Stokes, who is likely to play a key role for the franchise, too isn’t available. Thus, David Miller should get a chance in the starting eleven ahead of the game against CSK. 

Jofra Archer’s four overs are likely to be the most important ones for the Royals. Steve Smith would be mindful of when to make him bowl in the allotted 20 overs. Archer will share the fast bowling duties alongside Jaydev Unadkat.
