It was just 4 months back that the IPL 2020 got over, and we are back again. We are still fresh with the memories of the 2020 season that we are again put in the bus for a new season, a new journey ahead of us.

The 2020 IPL imposed a lot of difficulties, for the fans, the cricketers and the board. But we must give a standing ovation to the Board of Cricket Control Of India (BCCI) for organizing an event of such magnitude even after so many challenges. Credit must also be given to the players, the coaches who had to go through a very depressing and tiring quarantine protocols, and the UAE cricket board for allowing BCCI to host the IPL in their countries with amazing facilities. The year 2020 was an year to forget, 4 to 5 months of lockdown, constant stress and anxiety among everyone and distressing coronavirus situation with engulfed the whole world. IPL is usually held in the month of April to May, but with the strict lockdown imposed but the Indian government it was impossible to host the IPL during that time and especially in India.

As things became back to normal, BCCI finally decided to host the IPL in 2020, but having India as the host nation was still not possible. So, BCCI finally went ahead with UAE as their preferred destination and preparation begun. 

IPL 2020 was no different to other IPL, just with one difference, no crowd. But held the same reputation of being one of the finest t20 leagues in the world, where not only stars players come together to play but also where you see young Indian coming out of the blocks to showcase their talents and have a shot at a spot in the Indian cricket team. The finals of the IPL 2020 were held between the Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Capitals, with Mumbai Indians coming out victorious and becoming the most successful IPL franchise.
