Royal Rumble has always been considered as one of the most entertaining pay-per-view in all WWE main events. From the time the Royal Rumble evolved in the sports entertainment, we witnessed and holds a bucket of memories that includes shocking returns, unbelievable eliminations and most importantly the unexpected winner in the match. Hacksaw Jim Duggan, who is popularly recognized as the first Royal Rumble winner in the year 1988, and the rest is history. In the last 30 years, Royal Rumble has bagged tremendous popularity among wrestling lovers where not only the gates of ‘Road to Wrestlemania’ opens but also bring in the curiosity of who will be going to be the hero of this year.

Known as the one of WWE’s “Big Four” main events, along with WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series, Royal Rumble is all set to happen once again with an open chance for 30 superstars to headline ‘The Grandest Stage of them all’ Wrestlemania for the championship title opportunity.

The upcoming Royal Rumble 2020 will take will be the thirty-third event under the Royal Rumble chronology, but who is going to shock the WWE Universe at Number 30 this year.

1. Edge

Speculations are rife that Rated-R Superstar Edge is all set to make his return inside the squared-circle, and what could be the better platform than Royal Rumble for him to come back. Edge made his return to the ring at WWE Summerslam pay-per-view in 2019, where he speared Elias to deliver a statement. Edge has already won the Royal Rumble in 2010.

2. John Cena

In 2017, John Cena created history at Royal Rumble when he defeated AJ Styles to become a 16-time world champion equaling Ric Flair. Cena is without a doubt one of the greatest in-ring performers of all time and making him the record-holding 17-time  world champion would surely be ‘the best for the business’ with his in-ring return at Royal Rumble 2020. In 2008, John Cena, who was originally scheduled to be sidelined with a torn pectoral muscle, entered the match as the thirtieth entrant making his “triumphant return”.

3. The Undertaker

Talking about ‘Road to Wrestlemania’ always reminds of The Undertaker. The Dead Man was last seen in a tag team with Roman Reigns against Shane McMahon and Dre McIntyre at Extreme Rules. WWE Universe would be happy to know that The Undertaker is in the talks for Wrestlemania 36. Rumors suggest that he might participate in the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view. 2020 seems to be the milestone year for the greatest sports entertainer of all time as he is set to complete his 30  years in the company. This could surely be relatable for Number 30 at the Royal Rumble 2020.

4. CM Punk

From the time CM Punk joined WWE Backstage on Fox Sports 1, speculation of his in-ring return has taken new heights. CM Punk hasn’t wrestled for WWE in almost six years. WWE Universe is also craving for CM Punk’s return to the ring. After all, it’s Royal Rumble a pay-per-view known for surprise returns, and it’s the show’s that make such things happen. What if we would go on to listen ‘Cult of Personality’ music at Number 30 this year.

5. Cain Velasquez

WWE Champion Brock Lesnar has lately confirmed that he will be the first entrant at Royal Rumble 2020. On that note, Cain Velasquez could be the best pick against Lesnar once again. Velasquez first appeared on WWE ring on the SmackDown premiere on FOX on October, 4. He then started a feud with long-time rival Brock Lesnar. However, he was defeated by Lesnar at Crown Jewel. With that revenge of loss in mind, Velasquez might return to the WWE ring at Royal Rumble to slay the beast.

This year’s Royal Rumble will take place on January 26, 2020, at the Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas with both Raw and SmackDown brand superstars.
