Storylines to Track the ‘Road to WWE Wrestlemania’

Years come and go but the electrifying impact on Road to Wrestlemania will always go further with time. Popularly acknowledged as one of WWE’s “Big Four ” pay-per-views along with Summerslam, Survivor Seris, and Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble 2020 has come to the conclusion with Drew McIntyre as the winner of Men’s Royal Rumble and Charlotte Flair for Women’s Royal Rumble Match. The year 2020 has brought a bundle of surprises coming ahead inside WWE’s squared-circle. With the shocking return of Rated R Superstar Edge, clearing that something thunderous will surely be going to take place in the WWE.

Road to Wrestlemania has always been a special period that comes from January to April, where we have had witnessed several iconic storylines in many years. From the Hulk Hogan era to this entirely new wrestling generation era, WWE Universe has made an incredible role by accepting the source of wrestling entertainment from World Wrestling Entertainment. This year’s Road to Wrestlemania flagged off with a shocking victory of McIntyre and Charlotte Flair at Royal Rumble. Many storylines have already been taking shapes for Wrestlemania 36.

After having a successful Royal Rumble, Drew McIntyre will now be having a great run until Wrestlemania 36. In the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, the Royal Rumble winner chose Brock Lesnar as his opponent for Wrestlemania 36. He will now face the Beast Incarnate for the WWE Championship. On the other side, Edge, who made a shocking return at Rumble, came face to face with his old tag-team partner Randy Orton, however, the Viper is always a Viper, turning his heels on him with an RKO, sending him to the hospital for recovery. Speculations are taking heights that Edge might face Randy Orton at Super Show-Down, and later enter the Elimination Chamber match for the Universal Championship opportunity against “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt.

Talking about ‘Road to Wrestlemania’ always reminds of The Undertaker. The Dead Man was last seen in a tag team with Roman Reigns against Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre at Extreme Rules. WWE Universe would be happy to know that The Undertaker is in the talks for Wrestlemania 36.  2020 seems to be the milestone year for the greatest sports entertainer of all time as he is set to complete his 30  years in the company. Rumors suggest that the Undertaker will soon make his thunderous come back to challenge Sting for a match at Wrestlemania 36.

WWE Universe has been constantly waiting to see Triple H lacing his boots once again. The Game was last seen battling Batista at Wrestlemania 35. Rumors mills have reported that “Cerebral Assassin” might reunite with his NXT team against Raw and Smackdown teams for Wrestlemania 36. There is the possibility if Triple H creates a storyline with Braun Strowman at ‘The Grandest Stage of them all’, as he went eye-to-eye with The Monster Amongst Men during the Survivor Series pay-per-view in 2017.

In the year 2017, John Cena also created history two years ago when he defeated AJ Styles to become a 16-time world champion equaling Ric Flair. Cena is without a doubt one of the greatest in-ring performers of all time and making him the record-holding 17-time  world champion would surely be ‘the best for the business’ with his in-ring return. Sources believed that John Cena will make a comeback soon to WWE challenging Lesnar for the WWE title with Drew McIntyre. If sources become true, then we would be witnessing a Triple Threat match at Wrestlemania 36.

Other than these superstars who recently created a buzz on his return to WWE is CM Punk, who joined WWE Backstage on Fox Sports 1. Speculation of his in-ring return has taken new heights. CM Punk hasn’t wrestled for WWE in almost six years. WWE Universe is also craving for CM Punk’s return to the ring. If sources are to be believed CM Punk will set his storyline with The Architect Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania 36. Last year, Rollins took to twitter challenging CM Punk by saying ‘Fight Me’.

WWE is all about showcasing the Immortals and raising the bars of new generation superstars, recently witnessed at Royal Rumble event. The golden journey of Wrestlemania has just kicked off with Lesnar vs McIntyre storyline. Let’s wait and get curious, what other dream matches are in WWE’s pipeline for Wrestlemania.
