Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg said that without Jos Butler and Ben Stokes it will be extremely difficult for Rajasthan Royals to beat Chennai Super Kings in their opening encounter today.

As Butler was not part of the bubble that was created for the players travelling from UK to UAE and that’s why as per protocol he has to quarantine for full six days before he is cleared to play for Rajasthan Royals.

Hogg replied this after he received a Twitter question from fan who asked Hogg,

“Can Royals upset Chennai Super Kings tonight? “ To which he said the absence of Butler will be the biggest factor that Royals had to overcome in first few matches as the England wicketkeeper-batsman is a star player in the T20 format.

IPL 2020 so far has been quite interesting where CSK defeated MI in the first match on September 19th 2020 followed by Super over thriller in the second match between Kings X1 Punjab and Delhi Capitals where Delhi emerged as a winner due to outstanding spell from KG Rabada.

The third match between RCB and Sunrisers Hyderabad became interesting in the last overs of second innings where Hyderabad lost the match due to outstanding spell from Yuzvendra Chahal and Shivam Dube in the end for Bangalore. There will be a huge responsibility on Steve Smith’s shoulder today as majority of the batting lineup in RR squad is inexperienced in absence of Ben Stokes and Jos Butler.
