Many experts thought that Royal’s have committed the biggest mistake by sending Tewatia at number 4th position in yesterday’s match to chase the giant total of 223 runs against Kings X1 Punjab. He found it difficult initially as he was unable to slog spinners but the moment he hit the first six of Sheldon Cottrell over he didn’t stop there and cleared the fences five times in an over.

He got equal support from Sanju Samson who scored 85 runs and skipper Steve Smith for his valuable 50. Rajasthan became the first team to chase down 223 runs in the history of cash-rich league. Tewatia who played an important part in the run chase thanked skipper Steve Smith and RR management for showing faith in him.

Speaking to ANI Tewatia said “You either grab an opportunity or bogged down by it. Smith and team told me I am their game-changer. So it was my duty to ensure that I repose their faith. When a team and stalwart like Smith backs you, the job is anyway half done. I am blessed to be part of RR family, “he smiled.

The match played between Kings X1 Punjab and Rajasthan Royals in Sharjah will go down in the history of IPL for several outstanding performances in a single match which includes 180+ partnership for first wicket between KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal and absolutely for the record chase by Royals in a exciting game.

They received praises from all the cricketing stalwarts like Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne for this amazing run chase.
