Royal Rumble 2020: McIntyre, Charlotte wins Rumble, Edge Returns

The gates of Road to Wrestlemania are opened and we finally have a winner in the name of Drew McIntyre. The biggest surprising pay-per-view event in the WWE history Royal Rumble brought Rated -R Superstar Edge to the ring after a long gap of nine years. Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar, who is also a WWE Champion, started the match at Number 1, eliminated 13 wrestlers over the top rope, putting down Roman Reigns record of 11 eliminations in the Rumble match.

Before being eliminated by Drew McIntyre, Lesnar eliminated Elias, Erick Rowan, John Morrison, Keith Lee, Shelton Benjamin, Braun Strowman, Shinsuke Nakamura, Kofi Kingston and many more. Lesnar began unstrapping his gloves after McIntyre stepped into the ring with the Beast. Ricochet hit a low blow to Lesnar from the behind and McIntyre eliminated The Beast with a Claymore Kick.

The loudest WWE crowd pop reaction came in when the number 21 entrant’s music hits with YOU THINK YOU KNOW HIM!?!, and it was The Returning Rated R Superstar Edge. He didn’t win the match and was eliminated second to last by Roman Reigns. However, there is a lot more left in his kitty in the future.

Apart from the shocking Men’s Royal Rumble result, Charlotte Flair also bagged the victory at 30-woman Royal Rumble match for a women’s championship match at WrestleMania 36. She eliminated Shayna Baszler to win the match. Bayley defeated Lacey Evans for WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship, while Lynch defeated Asuka for Raw Women’s Championship.

“The Fiend” took another victory over Daniel Bryan to retain his WWE Universal Championship. Andrade put a win over Humberto Carrillo for WWE United States Championship.

“The Big Dog” Roman Reigns, who was eliminated last in the Rumble match, defeated King Corbin in a Falls Count Anywhere match, On the other side, Sheamus defeated Shorty G in a singles match.
