Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr, popularly known by her ring name Charlotte Flair, is a female American professional wrestler currently working with World Wrestling Entertainment on the Raw brand. Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr is the daughter of wrestling legend Ric Flair and is recognized as one of the top female professional wrestlers in the WWE.

Fliehr started her professional wrestling career in 2000, appearing with her father in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) as Ashley Flair. In 2012, she signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment and was assigned to its developmental territory NXT where she won the NXT Women’s Championship. After she made her WWE main roster debut in 2015, she became Divas Championship once, the Raw Women’s Championship four times, and the SmackDown Women’s Championship five times, making her a record ten-time women’s champion on WWE’s main roster.

In 2016, Charlotte Flair was selected as both Woman of the Year and that year’s world’s top female professional wrestler.

EARLY LIFE

Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr was born on April 5, 1986, in Charlotte, North Carolina, U.S. She is born to Flair’s then-wife Elizabeth. She persuaded her graduation from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in public relations. Having a great interest in sports, Fliehr won two NCHSAA 4 A-State championships for volleyball during her time at Providence High School and became team captain and player of the year in 2004-2005.

Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr had her first marriage with Riki Johnson in May 2010. She ended her marriage in February 2013 after she accused Johnson of domestic assaults. In 2013, she married Thomas Lattimer. However, the couple divorced in 2015. Fliehr has been in a relationship with fellow WWE wrestler Manuel Andrade Oropeza, known by the ring name Andrade. The couple got engaged on January 1, 2020. She had a younger brother, Reid, who died of an accidental drug overdose in 2013.

PROFESSIONAL LIFE

Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr began her professional wrestling career in 2000 when she joined her father Ric Flair in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) as Ashley Flair during his feud with Vince Russo and her half-brother David. In 2012, Ashley signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment and was trained under Lodi in North Carolina. She changed her ring name to Charlotte Flair at NXT, where she defeated Bayley in her first televised match.

In 2014, Charlotte participated in an eight-woman tournament for the vacant NXT Women’s Championship, where she defeated Emma in the first round, Alexa Bliss in the semifinals, and Natalya in the finals to bag her first title in the WWE. She lost the title to Sasha Banks in a fatal four-way match in 2015.

Charlotte made her WWE main roster debut in 2015 with Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch. Charlotte and Lynch allied with Paige, who was engaged in a feud with Team Bella (Alicia Fox and The Bella Twins). The trio of Charlotte, Lynch, and Paige was dubbed Team PCB. At Night of Champions, Charlotte defeated Nikki Bella to win the ‘Divas Championship.’

At Wrestlemania 32, a triple threat match between Charlotte, Banks and Lynch was set up for the Divas Championship. At the event, a new WWE Women’s Championship replaced the Divas Championship and Charlotte defeated Banks and Lynch to become the inaugural champion. Charlotte began a rivalry with Natalya and successfully defended her title against her.

In WWE, Charlotte became Divas Championship once, the Raw Women’s Championship four times, and the SmackDown Women’s Championship five times, making her a record ten-time women’s champion on WWE’s main roster.

In 2019, Charlotte feuded with Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. At SummerSlam, Flair defeated Stratus by submission. Flair made her video game debut as a playable character in WWE 2K17 and has since appeared in WWE 2K18 and WWE 2K19.
