Team India have announced their ODI and T20I squad for the West Indies series on Thursday. The series is scheduled to begin on December 6, comprising of three T20 Internationals and as many one-day Internationals. Fast bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Shami makes a return to the limited-overs side along with Kuldeep Yadav. Indian captain Virat Kohli also returns to the T20I side after being rested Bangladesh T20 series.
Bhuvneshwar has successfully recovered from his injury while Shami has got the reward for his consistent performance in the longer format of the game. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also returns to the side after missing out against Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, youngster Sanju Samson gets the bitter taste once again as he has been dropped from the T20I squad despite not getting any opportunity against Bangladesh. Pacers such as Khaleel Ahmed and Shardul Thakur have been sidelined for the tour as the Shami and Bhuvneshwar are set to replace them.
MS Dhoni is still nowhere to been seen as young Rishabh Pant has been included in both the limited-overs squad. Rohit Sharma will also play in both the formats despite reports were emerging that he will be rested for the series. All-rounder Hardik Pandya and India’s lethal pacer Jasprit Bumrah again miss out due to respective injuries.
The first T20I which is scheduled to take place on December 6 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
