Piyush Chawla looking forward to learn from Harbhajan Singh in CSK

Chennai Super Kings’ newly acquired leg-spinner Piyush Chawla is keen on learning from Harbhajan Singh in the upcoming season of IPL.

The CSK had bought the KKR spinner Piyush Chawla for a whopping Rs.6.5 crore during the IPL 2020 auction in December last year. Chawla’s addition will add to the strength of the spin department of the CSK already comprising of Imran Tahir and Harbhajan Singh.

Chawla has said that he aims to learn a lot from Harbhajan Singh by playing alongside him. The leg-spinner also praised the 40-year-old Imran Tahir for his energy on the field during the matches.

“Obviously the first reaction was I was quite happy. As you are talking about a lot of spinners but we all know how Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) plays around with the spinners. So that will be really good for me and for the team. It is also very important to have healthy competition in the team,” Piyush Chawla told cricket.com.

“The good part is when I go there I will get to learn lot of things from Bhajju Pa (Harbhajan Singh). We all know Imran Tahir, what kind of a bowler he is and his energy level even at this age. So it will be fantastic to play with these guys,” he further added.

Harbhajan Singh has ruled the Indian spin bowling during his playing days in the Indian cricket team. And he continues to be a part of one of the best teams i.e., Chennai Super Kings. Previously, he was a part of the Mumbai Indians franchise before joining CSK in 2018.
