Mumbai Indians, it’s Mumbai Indians once again who lifted the IPL trophy for the fourth time in the history of the event.Mumbai Indians on Sunday beat Chennai Super Kings in the last-ball thriller by 1 run to win the IPL trophy for the fourth time in total 12 editions and in the process became the most successful team in the IPL.

IPL 2019 winner:- Mumbai Indians have now beaten CSK for the third time in an IPL final. It couldn’t have been any better. The last ball thriller, two needed from one ball. Shardul Thakur facing the last ball of the IPL 2019, off Lasith Malinga only to get leg before and handing Mumbai one-run win on Sunday.

It could have been another Shane Watson’s match-winning innings in a final. Though, fate wanted something else, as he got run-out in the final over after playing one of the best innings of his IPL journey. He would be disappointed for not taking his team over the line and perhaps, the captain MS Dhoni too who saw a sad end to his magical IPL this year.

Yes, it happened, CSK skipper ran himself out in an attempt to take a single on an overthrow for just 2 runs. Dhoni’s wicket was perhaps the turning point in the match.

In pursuit of a 149 run total, CSK, for a second consecutive time, had a wonderful start, having collected 53 runs in first 6 overs for the loss of one wicket.

Mumbai Indians came back to the game in the tenth over, thanks to a stellar spell by Rahul Chahar in the final. The spinner gave just 14 runs in four over and claimed the crucial wicket of Suresh Raina.

Jasprit Bumrah accounted for Ambati Rayudu in the eleventh over, followed by MS Dhoni’s wicket as CSK were reeling at 82 for 4 in 13 overs.

However, it was Shane Watson who played a sensational 59-ball 80 run innings who almost took CSK home on Sunday.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians posted 149 in their twenty overs.

Having suffered a lean-run in the tournament until the final, Kieron Pollard played a sensational 25-ball 41 run innings on Sunday only to guide Mumbai to 149 for 8 in the first innings.

Barring Pollard, no other batsmen made a significant contribution as MI were restricted to 149, courtesy brilliant bowling from CSK bowlers.
