CSK vs DC Match Summary – CSK spinners foxed a powerful Delhi Capitals batting line up as the Men In Yellow bundled Delhi Capitals for just 99 runs on Thursday.
Ravindra Jadeja had an amazing day both with the bat and ball. The all-rounder was sent ahead of Rayudu and Kedar on Wednesday. He smashed 2 fours and 2 sixes in his 10-ball 25 run cameo. Jadeja also picked three wickets for just 9 runs in his four overs.
Imran Tahir continued his dominance in the tournament. He scalped three crucial breakthroughs of Rishabh Pant, Sherfane Rutherford, and Axar Patel.
Chasing a par 179 run total, Shikhar Dhawan along with Prithvi Shaw gave Delhi Capitals a quick start, having amassed 50 runs in five overs. Dhawan took on Harbhajan right from his first over, though the CSK spinner had the last laugh, bowling him out on 19 which saw Delhi collapse from there on.
Skipper Shreyas Iyer top-scored with 44 off 31, while other batsmen failed miserably at Chepauk.
Earlier, riding on Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni’s heroics, CSK notched 179 runs in 20 overs. Suresh Raina played a beautiful 59 run innings, including eight fours and one six, while MS Dhoni ended CSK innings on a high with 22-ball 44.
CSK are now back at the top after registering their ninth match in the tournament, while Delhi slips to second on Thursday.
