KXIP vs RR Match Summary: Rajasthan Royals lost their sixth match in the tournament, even as Kings XI Punjab registered their fifth win in eight matches on Tuesday.

Chasing a par 182-run total, Rahul Tripathi and Jos Buttler gave Rajasthan a flying start. Buttler played aggressively while Tripathi played as a second fiddle to the former.

Rajasthan were going well, having struck 38 runs in four overs, however, Jos Buttler lost his wicket to debutant Arshdeep Singh on 23. Debutant Arshdeep Singh bowled superbly in the power play overs while picking two most important wickets of Jos Buttler and Ajinkya Rahane.

Rajasthan Royals middle over woes was once again in the spotlight as wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals with the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Sanju Samson, Ashton Turner failing to notch a big inning. Rajasthan  

Skipper Ravi Ashwin continued his brilliant run with the ball, having given away just 24 runs and picking two crucial wickets of Sanju Samson and M. Ashwin.  

Earlier, Kings XI Punjab posted a massive 182 run total on the board in the first innings.

Kl Rahul struck another half-century in 47 deliveries before getting out on 52. His innings included three fours and two sixes. Chris Gayle also made a firing start, striking three sixes and two fours in his cameo of 30 runs off 22 deliveries.

Mayank Agarwal and David Miller also played fabulous innings in a bid to elevate the run-rate. Agarwal scored 26 runs off 12 deliveries. Having been replaced by Moises Henriques prior to the start of the match, David Miller made full use of the opportunity hammering two sixes and two fours in his innings of 40 runs off just 27 deliveries.

Jofra Archer was the pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan. The England all-rounder picked three wickets for just 15 runs in his quota of four overs.
