In RR’s second mention on the list of 5 youngest players in IPL 2020, we will talk about a player so tender in age, yet so popular amongst the cricket fanatics. Just 18 years of age, Yashasvi Jaiswal is already a known face in the Indian cricketing circuit, and is also an important member of the India U19 side in the upcoming ICC U19 World Cup. Jaiswal became the youngest player to hit a double century in List A cricket, when he scored 203 runs from just 154 deliveries against Jharkhand.

Interest was hence high in Jaiswal at the auction, and Royals had to shell out INR 2.4 crores for the all-rounder. Jaiswal has been extremely impressive in the few List A games he has played so far. In just 13 games, Jaiswal has scored 779 runs at an astonishing average of 70 runs.

While Riyan Parag wears Royals’ pink shirt just like Jaiswal and Singh, he is already ahead of them. Parag was signed by Royals last year, and hardly anyone expected him to feature in the playing XI. But with experienced campaigners failing to perform, the youngster from Assam got his chance, and Parag knew he cannot afford to let the chance go begging.

He grabbed the chance with both hands, and made himself a mainstay in the Rajasthan Royals team. In the 7 matches he played last year, Parag scored 160 runs at a healthy average of 32. He also maintained a healthy strike rate of over 125. Parag is a handy all-rounder, and chipped in with his bowling skills as well.

The fourth name on the list of 5 youngest players in IPL 2020 is also an experienced IPL campaigner like Riyan Parag. But unlike Parag, Mujeeb Ur Rahman has already earned his national cap, and is one Afghanistan’s most important players. The Afghan spin sensation was roped in by Kings XI Punjab in 2018. In his very first year, he made it clear that Punjab didn’t throw their money down the drain when they invested in him.

In 11 matches, Rahman picked up 14 wickets. But what’s more impressive is the fact that he kept an economy rate of under 7 runs per over, which is extremely rare in the shortest format of the game. Though Rahman had a poor 2019 season, he would be eager to get back to his usual rhythm next year.
