VVS Laxman Predicts Finalists for World Cup 2019: Having witnessed teams squaring up against each other for one month, we have finally come into the business end of the tournament with Pakistan, Bangladesh, and England fighting for the fourth spot in the semi-finals.

Out of 10 teams playing the World Cup, India have been the only side which has managed to remain unbeaten in the perennial tournament. Virat and Co. have played six games so far, winning five out of them with one being washed out due to rain.

Barring the match against Afghanistan, India have claimed clinical victories against the likes of Australia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, to name a few.

However, Australia having played two more matches currently tops the chart with 14 points. Australia have managed to win seven out of eight games they have played. The only loss they have suffered in the tournament has come against India.

Both India and Australia are playing phenomenal cricket as chances are high that these two teams would go on to become the two finalists to play the final of ICC World Cup 2019

Former Cricketer VVS Laxman also chose India and Australia as the two finalists for 2019 World Cup.

India versus Australia is going to be the World Cup final.” Laxman told Times Now.

Laxman also praised the Indian bowling line up performance in the World Cup.

“This Indian team looks very very sharp, the bowlers are really shining. Jasprit Burmah and Mohammed Shami and even when Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) was playing so it’s good to see bowlers really shining through.” India’s one of the greatest middle over batsman said.

However, VVS Laxman showed his concerns over MS Dhoni’s inability to rotate the strike in the middle overs.

MS Dhoni needs to improve on rotating the strike. He is a remarkable player but needs to rotate the strike more,” added the former right-hander.

Dhoni was guilty of scoring at an abysmal strike rate in the middle overs in India’s last two matches against Afghanistan and West Indies. While he made it up towards the end against West Indies by hitting Oshane Thomas for two sixes and a four in the final over of the Indian innings but he was dismissed for a 52-ball 28 against Afghanistan.

India are, currently, sitting comfortably at second position with five wins out of six. They now have to win only one match out of three to seal a spot for the semi-finals. While Australia are already through to the semis, the contention for the third and fourth spot is still going between New Zealand, England, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
