Sri Lanka VS West Indies Dream11 Prediction: Having sustained a below-par tournament so far, both Sri Lanka and West Indies will play for pride on Monday in their eighth match of the ICC World Cup 2019.
Sri Lanka have only won two matches in the tournament out of seven which means they are practically out of the qualification, however, their second win against England added the much-needed interest in the tournament as the victory opened the gates for other teams to fancy their chances for the number four position.
West Indies, on the other hand, have been nothing but a big disappointment in the tournament. Coming into the World Cup, Jason Holder and Co. were touted as the dark horse, considering their heavy batting line up, including the likes of Chris Gayle, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope to name a few. However, the West Indies failed to impress the cricketing world as there still a lot of room for improvement when it comes to 50-over cricket.
West Indies bowlers put up a wonderful performance in their last match against India. Though, Dhoni’s late assault did help India post 268 in 50 overs in the end.
Kemar Roach was brilliant with the ball, picking up three crucial wickets for just 36 runs in his quota of 10 overs. Skipper Jason Holder too bowled beautifully, having picked 2 wickets for just 33 in his 10 overs.
Chris Gayle went all cylinders firing in the New Zealand clash, however, failed to spill magic in the last game against India. He will look to add more runs in his armoury in what will be his second last World Cup match of his career.
Players with the likes of Shimron Hetymer, Shai Hope will also be eking to score some runs against a depleted Sri Lanka as both are likely to hold much of Windies’ batting weight in the clash against Sri Lanka.
Talking about Sri Lanka’s bowling attack, Lasith Malinga will once again spearhead the bowling attack on Monday. Malinga has taken as many as 9 wickets in the tournament so far.
Apart from Malinga, players like Dhananjaya de Silva and Isuru Udana are a couple of other handy picks for your today fantasy teams.
Perhaps, nothing has disappointed more than Sri Lanka’s batting in the tournament. Be it skipper Dimuth Karunaratne or former skipper Angelo Mathews, Sri Lanka’s batting line up has shown a horrendous performance in the tournament.
Though, the onus will once again fall on senior players like Angelo Mathews, Thisara Perera, and Kusal Mendis to help Sri Lanka post a good total against West Indies on Monday.
