Rishabh Pant Biography

Indian batsman Rishabh Pant and Hanuma Vihari set the right tone for India ahead of opening encounter against Australia on 17th December 2020 in Adelaide in a day-night Test match. As they both scored hundreds in second practice match against Australia A followed by fifties from Mayank Agarwal and Shubhman Gill and due to these individual performances eventually, India took the lead to 472 runs at the end of the second day.

The highlight of the Indian innings was the knock from Pant and Vihari as the runs were scored in night session which is traditionally the most difficult time to bat in day-night Tests in Australia. It will certainly benefit them coming into actual match as the day-night test match in foreign condition would not be an easy thing for them to handle.

Both the practices matches that India played against Australia were not good for talented opener Prithvi Shaw who is currently struggling with his form but his counterpart Shubhman Gill was sensational with the bat in second practice match  as he scored 65 runs off 78 balls. It will be certainly a lot that management had to think about before deciding their final playing X1 in first Test match against Australia on the series opener on 17th December 2020. As Pant with his century can’t be overlooked which will mean that either Pant or Saha will get an opportunity in the Playing X1 as wicketkeeper ahead of first encounter.

As India finished the second day of the practice match with the lead of 472 runs . India’s stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane got a start but failed to convert it into a big one as he edged one straight to Alex Carey behind the stumps off Steketee. It was difficult day for Australian bowlers as they went for heavy runs but Mitchell Swepson and Jack Wildermuth also picked up one wicket apiece.
