The result of the second match of the IPL 2020 between Kings Eleven Punjab and Delhi Capitals was decided by a super over on Sunday. Both teams finished their innings at 157, resulting in a tie.

Kagiso Rabada, once again, produced a stellar super over for Delhi as he only gave 2 runs in his over. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer didn’t take too long as Delhi Capitals started the tournament on a winning note.

The game will also be remembered for Mayank Agarwal, who played a stellar knock of 89 runs off 60 balls. In pursuit of 157, Kings Eleven Punjab found themselves in all sort of trouble having lost 5 wickets for just 55.

However, Agarwal took it upon himself and almost took his team home before he got castled on the second last ball of the innings.

Kings Eleven Punjab head coach, Anil Kumble reflected on Kings’ loss and said that their side should have the game.

“Really disappointed towards the end. Maybe we should have won the game, unfortunately, it went to a Super Over and when you go to a Super Over, you at least need 10-12 runs that didn’t happen. Delhi played well as we left them off the hook a little bit, but having said that for the first game of the tournament, really satisfied with the way things have gone. It was a good start and I am sure we will be able to correct whatever little things we need to do on the field in the next game,” he said.

Kings Eleven Punjab will play their second game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
