SA20 League Match 5 Preview: MI Cape Town to lock horns with Durban Super Giants today, who is going to come out on top?

SA20 t20

MI Cape Town, owned by the Mumbai Indians IPL franchise, and Durban Super Giants, owned by the Lucknow Super Giants IPL franchise, are going to face off against each other today 13th January 2023 from 9:00 pm IST in Newlands, Cape Town in the SA20 League. Here we are going to preview the match between both these teams.

MI Cape Town started its SA20 campaign well with a dominant win against the Paarl Royals franchise in the inaugural match of the tournament. They won the toss and decided to bowl first. Jofra Archer returned to cricket after 540 days but his performance made all of us feel like he never left. Due to his bowling and support from other bowlers, MI bundled out Paarl for 142/7 runs and achieved the target in just 15.3 overs with the help of Dewald Brevis’s sensational innings.

Durban Super Giants lost a close encounter against the Joburg Super Kings team in their first match of the season. They ticked many boxes but were just not able to win those crunch moments. They lost the match by 16 runs while chasing a score of 191.

The pitch in Cape Town has some extra bounce in it and can help the bowlers to a huge extent. The average first innings score here is 155-160 runs and the teams batting second always have an advantage on this ground. So, both the captains would want to win the toss and invite the other team to bat first.

MI Cape Town did everything right in the first match and would just ahead to continuing that and doing nothing extra. Brevis is in top form and so is Jofra Archer. And we all know the capabilities of their captain Rashid Khan and what he can do in just one over, whether with the bat or the ball.

Durban Super Giants would require a better bowling performance to stop MI’s batters and stop them on a less score. The batters would look forward to continuing the impressive show they did against the Joburg franchise and captain de Kock will expect a little bit more from its middle-order batters.

The match begins at 9:00 pm IST and will be streamed live on the Voot App and Jio Cinema App. We will bring all the updates related to this match on our website, so stay tuned for that. Until then, cheerio!
