Dewald Brevis Domestic Career
The kid was signed by the Northerns ahead of the 2021/22 domestic season. The player went on to make his Twenty20 debut against Easterns for South Africa Under-19s. Despite the team ending up losing, the player left the impression on selectors with his swashbuckling 46 from 25 deliveries. He featured in the second game but the player got dismissed for 14 runs. However, the player was called up for the national side for the U-19 World Cup.
Following a great U-19 World Cup 2022, the player registered himself for a IPL Mega Auction 2022. After an intense bidding, Mumbai Indians were able to secure his services for a sum of Rs 3 crore.
Dewald Brevis International Career
The youngster is yet to make it to the senior setup of South Africa. However, the player featured for the U-19 setup and raised eyebrows of the fellow cricketers and seniors with his stroke-making abilities.
In the U-19 tournament, the player scored 506 runs with two centuries and three half-centuries. He scored at a strike rate of 90+ and averaged 84.33 in the tournament. In the tournament, the player did not disappoint with the ball either. He picked seven wickets for his side but failed to take the team over the line in knockout stage. The player had an economy of 5.58 in the U-19 World Cup.
