Let’s have a look at the tentative dates of IPL 2022 in detail

Tentative schedule of Indian Premier League  2022 season has been released by the BCCI, it is expected that the marquee event will begin from 2 April, 2022 and will last for two months till 3 June, 2022. From the 2022 IPL season two more teams in form of Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants have been added to the table.

Till 2021, IPL used to last for at least 45 days, but as 2 more teams have been added to the table, then the event will last longer than what it used to last before. Previously, IPL used to begin from the last week of March but, according to the tentative schedule the upcoming IPL season will commence from the first week of April. Mumbai Indians is the most successful franchise in the IPL as they have won 5 IPL titles followed by  Chennai Super Kings  with four titles. 

Most probably the upcoming IPL season will be played in India with UAE and South Africa being the backup venue in case Covid-19 hits increases alarmingly in India during that tenure.

Due to the Covid-19, amid BCCI has shortlisted a certain amount of stadiums where they might organize the IPL matches in 2022. As the BCCI have allowed crowd to enjoy the third T20I match against West Indies from stadium, then they might allow the audience to come and watch IPL matches from stadium with proper precautions.

Besides the four venues in the Mumbai-Pune corridor the Wankhede Stadium and Brabourne Stadium in south Mumbai, the Dr. D.Y. Patil Sports Stadium in Navi Mumbai and the Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium on the outskirts of Pune most probably will be taken into consideration to organize the marquee event.
