Chennai Super Kings is undoubtedly the most consistent team in IPL. The franchise has won the tournament thrice and has reached playoffs in all the editions they participated.
Renowned commentator, Aakash Chopra recently did a SWOT analysis of the franchise and talked about the biggest threat to the side in IPL 2020. Chennai Super Kings have an amazing win-loss record against every team, barring one. Chennai Super Kings have struggled to play against Mumbai Indians in IPL.
According to Aakash Chopra, Mumbai Indians can pose the biggest threat to the franchise in the tournament.
“Talking about the threats, they have Mumbai Indians as their biggest threat. If you see the history of the IPL, this is one team against whom they have not been able to display their magic. They tend to lose to the Mumbai Indians.” Chopra said.
Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians have played 30 matches against each other in the history of IPL. Mumbai have won 18 games, while CSK have managed to win 12.
Add to that, Chopra also said that the hot conditions of UAE could take a toll on CSK. With very minimum backup options at their disposal, the conditions of the UAE could prove another threat to the side.
“One more thing is that, it is going to be extremely hot in the UAE. That is another threat, because in that heat you would be playing back to back matches, the squad is very tight-knit, you don’t have too much manoeuvrability.”
