The Board of Control for Cricket in India recently announced the IPL 2020 schedule. Chennai Super Kings will play against Mumbai Indians in the season opener at Abu Dhabi. IPL 2020 was originally scheduled to take place in March. However, with coronavirus getting the world in its grip, it was postponed to a later date.

If reports are to be believed, BCCI would suffer a loss of 400 crores if IPL doesn’t take place this year. Also, Vivo recently pulled out as IPL title sponsors due to ongoing tensions between India and China. Fantasy gaming app, Dream11 is the new title sponsors for IPL 2020.

Despite following all the protocols and measures taken in a bid to combat the deadly virus, a lot of contingent members were found positive upon their arrival in UAE. As many as 13 members of CSK were found positive for coronavirus.

All the matches of the tournament will be played inside closed doors. However, 30 per cent of the audience might come to see the matches in the latter part of the tournament. Three venues have been scheduled to conduct the matches- Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
