In September of last year, Robin Uthappa, a former batter for both India and Karnataka, announced his retirement from all forms of Indian cricket. Uthappa has also been a part of Indian cricket team that won the 2007 T20 World Cup. The famous athlete is currently living out his dream by competing in the ILT20, a franchise league in the United Arab Emirates.

He was the first player to receive the Green Belt while representing Dubai Capitals after his 79-run innings off 46 balls against Gulf Giants on Monday at the Dubai International Stadium. But, unfortunately Dubai Capitals lost this match. With 122 runs, Uthappa is currently in first place on the list of leading run scorers.

The green belt that Robin Uthappa earned was oddly reminiscent of the belts that WWE wrestlers are awarded after winning championships. The fans found it amusing. So, it’s unique one to have this and proves to be exciting too. Uthappa is receiving a lot of appreciations and applauds for this achievement on social media. Robin Uthappa holds outstanding stats and performances in IPL as well.

ILT20 league began from 13th January and this is the first edition of the tournament to be played, having 6 teams in the league.
