'Yashasvi Jaiswal is one of next superstars of Indian cricket' says Former Star Indian Cricketer

Mumbai Indians defeated Rajasthan Royals by six wickets in a high-scoring thriller at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to maintain their chances of making the 2023 IPL playoffs. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 124 runs (62b, 16×4, 8×6) in the first innings gave the Royals the highest runs scored in a single game this season and earned him the Orange Cap in the process. They set a target of 213, which MI surpassed thanks to innings of 55 runs from Suryakumar Yadav (29b, 8×4, 2×6) and a game-winning 45 runs in only 14 balls from Tim David.

Despite the defeat, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 124-run innings, which was also his first-ever IPL century, was the most prolific scoring performance of any batter this season.

After the young opener’s performance, Former India cricketer Robin Uthappa said ”He is one of the next Indian cricket superstars. Right from the start, he made his intentions clear. He is quite courageous in the way he handles it, batting fearlessly and getting out there. He has worked so hard this season, and it is beginning to show.”

Tim David smashed three sixes in the final over of the Mumbai run chase-off to win the game with three balls remaining. Parthiv Patel, a former wicket-keeper batsman for India, praised David’s finishing prowess and the significance of the position in T20 cricket on JioCinema.

”He can deliver under pressure and aid in their victories. When you are attempting to beat a huge total, the finisher’s role is crucial. Tim David is providing the large innings with a high strike rate that you need in the lower order” said Parthiv.
