After Virat Kohli’s century yesterday against the SL team, which was his 45th ODI century, talks are going on about how quickly Kohli can break Sachin’s record of 49 ODI centuries and the ultimate record of 100 International centuries. Amidst all these talks, some interesting revelations have taken place in Dubai where England cricketing legend, Joe Root, was interviewed by Zee.

Joe Root in an interview said that there are many players who are close to breaking Sachin’s record and they might actually do it but the thing is what Sachin Tendulkar did for his country and achieved will always be remarkable. He said that whether someone manages to surpass those records or not, Sachin will always be the God of cricket for him. He also said that Sachin debuted in International cricket even before Root was born and played in Root’s debut match. This says a lot about Sachin’s talent and skills.

Joe Root is currently in the UAE for the inaugural season of the ILT20 which is starting today in Dubai. He was interviewed before the match by Zee and he made a statement related to Sachin Tendulkar’s achievement in cricket. “I mean obviously there are some wonderful players currently playing but look at what Sachin has achieved, it’s just remarkable really, the longevity, the ability to be such a high-performing player at such a young age, and then to be able to sustain and to keep developing and moving forward in the game,” said Joe Root.

Root also mentioned that Sachin has carried the burden of his nation on his shoulders for over 20 years which is a standout thing for any young cricketer.
