After confirming that Wicket-keeper Batsman Rishabh Pant will not be playing in IPL 2022, Delhi Capitals could turn to Australian international David Warner for the captaincy role. The Aussie pocket sized dynamite has good experience of being a captain in the IPL and he even guided Sunrisers Hyderabad to IPL glory in 2016. But he was removed from the post after the Sandpaper gate controversy but make no mistake he has a wealth of experience under his belt.

2. Punjab Kings – Shikhar Dhawan

After stepping down from being the captain of the team, Dhoni was recalled to become Chennai Super Kings’ captain after the South Indian outfit lost their first 6 out of 8 matches. This could possibly be MSD’s final IPL season and he will be looking to deliver a 5th IPL trophy.

6. Lucknow Super Giants – KL Rahul

There will be no changes for Lucknow’s captaincy post KL Rahul will continue to lead the team. He was acquired by LSG during the 2022 IPL auction for 17 Crores and was announced as the Captain. 7. Royal Challengers Bangalore – Faf Du Plesis
