The recently concluded England-West Indies Test series saw England becoming the first nation to organize international cricket after a long hiatus due to Covid-19 Pandemic. The same team is now set to host second Test series at home against Pakistan, starting from 5th August. Both teams will square up against each other for three Tests and as many T20 internationals.
Post the Covid-19 Pandemic, Pakistan will play their first international series as they would look to put up a strong show in England. Experience campaigners such as Sarfaraz Khan, Wahab Riaz and Fawad Alam have been some of the notable inclusions in the side.
Wahab Riaz took an indefinite break from red-ball cricket in 2019, while Fawad Alam has not played a single Test since 2009. Former Pakistan skipper, Sarfaraz Khan also made it to the squad but only as a back-up wicket-keeper to Mohammad Rizwan.
England, on the other hand, are coming off a 2-1 victory against England in their last Test assignment. The selectors have named an unchanged squad for the first Test against Pakistan, starting from 5th August 2020.
Eng vs Pak: Head to Head
England and Pakistan have faced each other as many as 83 times, of which England have managed to win 25 times. Pakistan, on the other hand, have proved victorious on 21 occasions.
