"You have decided it is my last IPL, i have not": MS Dhoni with an update on his future during toss VS LSG!

4-time IPL winning captain with Chennai Super Kings MS Dhoni dropped a major update regarding his future in the league during toss time against Lucknow Super Giants earlier today. New Zealand commentator Danny Morrison was overseeing the coin flip and he asked Dhoni about how he feels playing his final season of the Indian Premier League.

Before replying Morrison, Dhoni elected to bowl first in a bowling friendly pitch at Ekana and his team got off to a great start. When the Kiwi asked “Clearly, this wonderful swansong tour your last. How are you enjoying it?”, MSD replied by saying – “You have decided it is my last IPL, not me!”

There is indeed plenty of talk going around if it is going to be MS Dhoni’s final appearance in CSK colors. Many are saying IPL 16 is Captain Cool’s farewell season while others are suggesting that there is come to from his side. CSK won their 4th IPL title 2 seasons ago in 2021 and are currently looking for redemption after a disappointing last edition.

His International retirement came in 2019 during the 2020 lockdown. He left the entire cricketing world shell shocked through an Instagram post with the song of “Mai Pal do Pal ka saathi hun”.

If we talk about his numbers in the IPL then he is among the batters who have scored 5000 runs in the tournament. In total he has scored 5052 runs in 243 matches with a strike rate of 135 and has scored 24 Half-centuries. Dhoni also amassed 384 Fours and 237 Sixes.

Dhoni has captained Chennai Super Kings for 14 seasons and the only time was not a skipper in IPL was in 2016 and 2017 when CSK were banned for 2 years from the IPL.

If we talk about the match between LSG and CSK then rain has interrupted the play and it will be fair to say that Dhoni’s side have an early advantage as the home team were 125/7 in 19.2 overs.
