Charulata Patel was seen cheering her heart out, but little did she know that she would become an internet sensation in hours. The 87-year-young Indian fan was seen cheering for India with utmost passion.

The elderly woman was seen blowing a horn and in a matter of minutes, caught everyone’s eye to become an internet sensation. Such was her energy and enthusiasm that it caught everyone.

A lot of fans posted her photos and videos and Charulata found herself as the talking point on social media around late evening in India.

The elderly fan claimed that she has been a fan for long and that this team is her’s and she considers the players like her kids. “I love this Indian team and all the players are like my kids,” she claimed.

Despite a Rohit Sharma century that won India the game that sealed their spot in the semis, Charulata stole the limelight and was the talking point after the game.

The likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli greeted her post game and sought her blessings. They even claimed her to be one of India’s most passionate fans and that here energy was infectious:

BCCI also couldn’t hold themselves and appreciated Charulata ji’s passion, energy and that her blessings shall guide the team.

Charulata was also ecstatic meeting the team and was very happy about being able to meet the players, hug them, kiss them and give her blessings. Virat Kohli has even promised her tickets for the remainder of the games.

Charulata Patel:– Although Charulata was born in Tanzania, Her love for the Indian cricket team was unparalleled. “India will win the World Cup. I pray to Lord Ganesha that India wins. I bless the team always,” Charulata told news agency.

“I like cricket because my children used to play in Surrey county. I was not born in India. I was born in Tanzania. But my parents are from India. I am proud of my country. From 20 years, after I retired, I started to watch cricket. I am very happy. So far I have given maybe four to five interviews (today),” she told the International Cricket Council’s (ICC’s) digital team.

The octogenarian fan has won hearts including that of industrialist Anand Mahindra who has promised to sponsor her.
