Watch : Virat Kohli come up with an unique celebration following Shimron Hetmeyer’s dismissal during RR Vs RCB!

Royal Challengers Bangalore came back to winning ways yesterday against Rajasthan Royals after losing 2 matches in a row against Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. They are also one of the teams battling to enter the play-offs and yesterday’s big margin win boosted their prospects for a 2nd consecutive play-offs.

RR and RCB clashed for match number 60 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur for the 1st match of the double header weekend. The visitors had won the toss and asked the home side to bowl first. Openers Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plesis got RCB off to a flying start before Kohli departed for 18 off 19.

And then came Glenn Maxwell to start the “Big Show” alongside his skipper Du Plesis. Both of them stood for a partnership of 69 runs before Du Plesis got out for 55 off 44. Following the 2nd wicket, RCB crumbled in the middle-overs with Maxwell getting out for 54 off 33.

Later on in the innings, RCB’s young wicket-keeper Batsman Anuj Rawat gave the finishing touches as the visitors got to a total of 171 from 137/5 in the 18th over.

At that moment, it seemed as if the target of 172 will be nothing for Rajasthan Royals who won their previous fixture by 9 wickets and 41-balls left. The win was powered by Left-handed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal as he smacked 98 off 47 and also scored the fastest 50 in IPL history.

However, what happened in the 2nd innings is a case of mystery. Jaiswal and Jos Buttler both got out for a 2-ball duck. Sanju Samson, Joe Root and Devdutt Padikkal scored 4, 10 & 4 with Shimron Hetmeyer scoring the most runs with 35 off 19.

Following Devdutt Padikkal’s dismissal, Hetmyer entered the batting order at position six for RR & promptly hit a six off the very first ball. In the 8th over, he hit Karn Sharma hard, hitting three consecutive sixes. However, Glenn Maxwell dismissed Hetmeyer on the 5th ball of the 10th over, stopping him before he could add an additional dimension to the match. Michael Bracewell successfully caught the left-handed hitter, and Virat was observed throwing a unique celebration following his dismissal.
