Sourav Ganguly’s brother tests positive for Coronavirus, former goes into home quarantine

BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly has isolated himself at home as his elder brother Snehasish Ganguly has tested positive for Coronavirus. The former has been told to go into home quarantine for at least 10 days.

Snehasish has been taken to Belle Vue hospital for his treatment. For the uninitiated, Sourav Ganguly’s brother, Snehasish Ganguly is the joint secretary of the Cricket Association of Bengal.

“He was suffering from fever for the last few days and his test report came positive today. He’s been admitted to Belle Vue Hospital,” a CAB official told PTI.

The reports arrived late in the evening. As per health protocols, even Sourav will have to be in home quarantine for a stipulated period,” a source close to the BCCI President added.

Earlier, Snehasish’s wife and in-laws were tested positive followed which Snehashish moved to his ancestral house. However, according to the recent report, he now has been tested positive as well.

BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly hasn’t made any comment on the development. Though, earlier in an interview, he did talk about how his brother is more prone to the disease than himself. 

“My brother visits our factories every day and he is more at risk,” he said.

West Bengal, as of now, has a tally of 32, 838 confirmed Coronavirus cases, of which 11,927 remains active cases. Also, in a bid to combat the deadly disease, Kolkata Police has asked the Cricket Association of Bengal to make a make-shift quarantine centre at Eden Gardens Stadium.
