Although, their hopes were completely shattered when skipper Rayad Emrit decided to hand over the ball to Rashid. This was a check move by Rashid as he managed to take wickets in his first 3 balls and all of them hit the stumps, making the Tallawahs wind up at 118 off 7 wickets by the end of the over.

Below are the details of Rashid’s first career hat trick:

The very first of the three wickets was an impressive googly when McCarthy misjudged and failed to read the delivery. McCarthy went for a drive against the turn and fell into prey giving off his precious wicket.

2nd Wicket Rashid to Jonathan Foo-

An exact replica of the first dismissal, Jonathan too misread the ball and failed to drive up the delivery.

Russell sidelined Brendon McCullum, Dwayne Bravo and Denesh Ramdin in the climax over. The Tallawahs’ struggled too with just managing 41 runs in the beginning and giving off 5 wickets until Russell came to the crease and stole the show and not to forget the good luck he carried after being dropped early – he promptly set about the Knight Riders bowlers in a killing progress.

His hard-hitting ability helped him get twelve sixes in his first 40 balls which aided him to reach the three-figure mark faster than anyone else in the competition’s history, and reaching the milestone as early as in the 17th over itself.
