West Indies’ legendary cricketer Dwayne Bravo, who was also an important part of Chennai Super Kings under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, has said goodbye to all forms of cricket. Bravo has taken this decision after CPL 2024. One of the great all-rounders in the history of cricket has announced his retirement by writing a post on Instagram saying that his body no longer supports him.
Great West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has said goodbye to all forms of cricket. Bravo took this decision after playing his last match in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024. Bravo will no longer play in any kind of league. Bravo, who was a part of West Indies’ T20 World Cup victory, has said that his mind wants him to play but his body is no longer allowing it.

Bravo announced his retirement by writing an emotional post on Instagram. He had already said goodbye to IPL. Then he said bye-bye to CPL and has now decided to retire from all forms of cricket.

Dwayne Bravo had already said before the start of CPL 2024 that he would retire from the league after this season. But his retirement happened early and the reason for this was his injury. On Tuesday, the Trinbago Knight Riders legend suffered a groin problem while playing against St. Lucia Kings, after which he announced his retirement before the end of the season. He got hurt while taking a catch. After this injury, Bravo took another big decision and said goodbye to all types of cricket.
Bravo wrote, “Today I am saying goodbye to the game that has given me so much since the age of five. I knew this was what I wanted to do. I was made to play this game. I knew better. 21 years of career was a wonderful journey.”
Bravo said that he wants to play, but his body is not supporting him. He wrote, “I want to continue my relationship with cricket. But it’s time to face the truth. My mind tells me to play but my body is not cooperating. My body can no longer bear the pain.”
Dwayne Bravo’s Career
Bravo played a total of 40 test matches for West Indies in which he scored 2200 runs. He also took 86 wickets in Tests. Bravo played 164 matches in ODI in which apart from scoring 2968 runs, he also took 199 wickets. He played 91 T20 matches for West Indies in which he scored 1255 runs and took 78 wickets. West Indies won the T20 World Cup in 2012 and 2014 and Bravo was a part of the team in both these victories.
