Sri Lanka’s rising star Kamindu Mendis has achieved another feat in Test cricket. Mendis scored the 5th century of his Test career and also became the fastest Asian batsman to score 5 centuries in the history of Test cricket. Meanwhile, he also equals the record of Don Bradman for scoring the fastest 5 centuries in Test format.

Kamindu Mendis became jointly the third batsman in the world to score the fastest 5 centuries in Tests. Mendis has succeeded in equaling Don Bradman’s record in scoring the fastest 5 centuries in terms of innings in Tests. Mendis has achieved this feat in 13 innings.

Talking about Bradman, the great batsman completed the first five centuries of his Test career in 1930. That means Mendis has equaled this special record of Bradman after 94 years. Considering, George Hadlee equals Bradman’s record in 1931.
