IPL  2021: Michael Vaughan explains why RCB  is the right franchise for Glenn  Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell

When Glenn Maxwell was picked by RCB franchise last year at the whopping amount experts and fans started criticizing the decision made by Bangalore based franchise but it looks like so far their decision is correct as the ace all-rounder has made a contribution with the willow to make sure that RCB wins on all three occasions.

The reason why Punjab Kings released them this year is due to his dismal performance in IPL 2020 where he scored 108 runs in 13 innings without hitting a single six during the entire tournament.

As Maxwell is currently the orange cap holder of IPL 2021 where he has amassed 176 runs and his recent knock of 78 runs from 49 balls and it was his second half-century of this season.

However, Michael Vaughan who is quite active on social platforms and can be seen talking about cricketers at different media portals recently said in Cricbuzz that RCB is the correct choice for Maxwell and he explained the reason why he feels that in detail.

“Glenn Maxwell is an incredible cricketer. He has never really flown in the IPL. Like we said about Moeen Ali, Chennai appears to be the spiritual fit for him and the right kind of franchise for Moeen Ali. I really feel RCB is the right franchise for Glenn Maxwell,”

“Here, he is under the radar, because you have got Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, he is like at the third position, whereas in other teams, he is the one from who usually expectations are high.”

“But now he can sneak under the radar and probably he is not getting as much attention as he gets at other teams. Because there is Virat there, and there is AB de Villiers there. I think it’s been a smart move. Maxwell is a great signing this year for RCB,”, he added.
