India U19 A vs Afghanistan U19:- The Quadrangular U-19 one-day series 2019 has been underway as the India U 19-A team are set to square up with Afghanistan U 19 on Thursday.
The India U 19-A is coming into the match high on confidence after beating South Africa in their opening game of the competition, while Afghanistan, on the other hand, suffered a humiliating seven-wicket defeat at the hands of Under 19-B in their opening game of the tournament.
India U19 A vs Afghanistan U19:- Afghanistan’s didn’t have the best of the starts, playing their first match against India under 19-B, as they could only score a modest 106 in the first match with India under 19-B seamer Purnank Tyagi claiming 4 Afghans wickets in his quota of ten overs. Also, Prayas Barman and Atharva Ankolekar accounted for three and two wickets respectively. Afghanistan’s bowlers couldn’t cause much trouble to the Indian batsmen as skipper Rahul Chandra and Tilak Varma comfortably steered India to victory with contributions of 56 and 44 respectively.
India’s under 19-A also proved victorious in their first match against South Africa under-19. Batting first, the former scored a formidable 251 on the board, courtesy contributions from Qamran Iqbal’s 60 off 55 deliveries and Shashwat Rawat’s 64 off 55 deliveries. In reply, South Africa folded for just 94 runs with the Ravi Bishnoi–H Dubey duo picking six wickets between them.
