England squad for T20 World Cup 2024
The defending champion England cricket team has announced the names of its 15 players for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The Team has taken a surprising decision regarding the England squad.
Under the captaincy of Jos Buttler, the England team will have the challenge of defending the title. Jofra Archer and Chris Jordan have returned to the national team, while David Malan and Chris Woakes have been shown the door.
Joffra Archer has been continuously struggling with injury for many years. He last participated in an international match against Bangladesh in the month of March last year but now he is completely fit and is waiting to make a tremendous comeback. Left arm spin bowler Tom Hartley has also got a place in England’s T20 team. Will Jacques will also fly to the T20 World Cup and both these players will participate in an ICC tournament for the first time.

Fast bowler Chris Jordan returns to the team
Jamie Overton has become a victim of injury and in such a situation Chris Jordan is included in the T20 World Cup team. Chris Jordan last played a T20 International against New Zealand in the late summer of 2023. He was not a part of the West Indies tour in December. However, Jamie Overton is out due to injury. In such a situation, Chris Jordan has benefited from this, because he is also capable of batting hard in the lower order.
England will start their campaign in the T20 World Cup with the match against Scotland from June 4. The remaining three matches of the England team will be held against Australia on 8 June, against Oman on 13 June and against Namibia on 15 June.
