WPL 2023: Gujarat Lost Badly in the opening game against Mumbai Indians

Gujarat didn’t wanted to startΒ  their WPL 2023 campaign on such a bad note , as they bundled out with the bat when they came out to bat for chasing a mammoth total of 207 runs.

Isabelle Wong and Natalie Sciver were flawless from the first ball, with the former taking two wickets and the latter taking one.

From the very first over, the Gujarat batsmen exuded a clueless aura that grew worse with each succeeding over.

The first game between these two teams featured an incredible bat-twisting thriller between Mumbai Indians, but other hitters weren’t as lucky.

With BCCI going above and beyond to launch their software “WPL app” to ensure that participants can catch live match highlights, scorecards, and replays in case they missed it, the WPL 2023 has already established itself as a milestone event.

Women’s cricket will undoubtedly undergo a transformation in the coming years thanks to WPL 2023, and the BCCI deserves praise for the manner they promoted it.

The first match of the WPL 2023 was impressive given the calibre of the cricket.

Ishaq’s ability to pick up two consecutive wickets with the ball and find his rhythm helped Mumbai Indians gain momentum.

Kerr was spot on with the ball on her first ball she delivered and took another wicket and clinched another wicket with the scorecard reading 23 runs at the loss of 7 wickets.

Beth Mooney didn’t came to bat at the end it was just down to tail enders to push further and their effort finally came to end with Indians winning quite comfortably against Gujarat Giants in the opening encounter.

There was some resistance at the end shown by the likes of Dayalan Hemlatha and Mansi Joshi eventually these two bundled out and the result quite easily went in favor of Mumbai.
