West Indies vs India, 3rd T20I: India won by 7 wickets

West Indies vs India

The 3rd T20I match between West Indies and India was certainly a now-and-never situation for the Indian team. That is because India was 0-2 down in the series and losing the 3rd T20I would mean that they are going to lose the series. But in this match, the Indian team looked much more determined to win the match. All thanks to Suryakumar Yadav who scored more than half of the team’s total. At the same time, Kuldeep Yadav ensured to perform well for the team by taking important wickets.

Highlights of the match:

West Indies Innings

  • West Indies batted first, and they went on to have a brilliant opening partnership of 55 runs. Both Brandom King and K Mayers ensured to lead from the front. They were able to score 55 only in 7.3 overs.
  • Once the first wicket was down, J Charles ensured to give support to King. They both were able to add only 20 more runs as a pair, but those were certainly crucial runs.
  • Pooran and Brandon King ensured to take the score even further, and by the time their partnership was over, the team score was 105 runs.
  • In the end, Rovman Powell ensured to take the score to the next level, by playing a wonderful knock. He scored 40 runs only on 19 balls. In his innings, he got 3 sixes.
  • The total score at the end of the innings was 159 for 5.

India Innings

  • The Indian team was totally prepared to chase the target of 160 runs. However, the form of the openers was questionable. That is because Shubman Gill had hardly scored any runs in the series, and this was affecting the opening pair.
  • The same fate continued even in the 3rd match of the T20I series. India got the opening stand of only 6 runs, and the next wicket fell on the team’s total of 34 runs.
  • But Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma ensured their team wins by taking the score to 121 in only 12.4 overs.

Soon the wickets total was chased in 17.5 overs. The biggest credit goes to the star Suryakumar Yadav for scoring 83 of only 44 balls.
