After facing a humiliating defeat against Australia by 8 wickets in the recently concluded first test match at Adelaide the visitors will be looking to make a comeback in the second Test match which will start from December 26th, 2020. However Indian team will be playing without their charismatic captain Virat Kohli who is on paternity leave for the birth of his first child. They will also miss the services of their experience fast bowler Mohammed Shami who is ruled out from the remaining test matches due to injury.

Australian players and media are always known for playing mind games even before any series start and knowing the fact that India is already down under pressure in the first match and they have started passing comments on Pujara who in absence of Kohli will be the most important batsman of the current Indian batting lineup. Like the last time India toured Australia to play Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2018-19 he was the highest run-scorer for the visitors where he amassed 521 runs from 4 matches and India clinched the series by 2-1 and retained Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Australian soil.

“I can’t reveal secrets, to be honest with you. But, obviously, Pujara is a world-class batter and he is going to be a big challenge for us for the rest of the series,” 33-year-old Lyon said at a virtual press conference on Wednesday.

“We spoke about him (Pujara) in depth before the series started, it was good to see a couple of plans come off in Adelaide, but we have got a couple more things,” he added.

Taking about Nathan Lyon’s personal milestones he is 9 short of taking 400 wickets in Test cricket and with the way he is bowling it seems that he will achieve this milestone in the remaining three matches against India. He also added that he loves bowling to top batters all around the world and Pujara is certainly one of them.
