Indian cricketer, Suresh Raina pulled out of the IPL 2020 and flew back to India on Saturday. It took everyone by surprise as the reason for the same was unknown. It has now been understood that Suresh Raina’ uncle has died following an attack in his house in midnight.

The attack took place in the midnight at Pathankot’s Thariyal village. The attackers used dangerous weapons to kill family members. Raina’s uncle died during the attack, while his aunt is battling for life in the hospital. Raina’s cousins, 32-year-old Kaushal Kumar and 24-year-old Apin Kumar, also sustained injuries.

The attackers involved in the attack haven’t been identified yet. The police, however, are currently investigating the matter and would hopefully trace the miscreants soon.

It is being said that Asha Devi, sister of Raina’s father is fighting for her life in the hospital, while his uncle, identified as 58-year-old Ashok Kumar died in the attack. His cousins – 32-year-old Kaushal Kumar and 24-year-old Apin Kumar also sustained injuries in the attack. Deceased Ashok Kumar’s 80-year-old mother also sustained serious injuries in the attack,” the report said.

Meanwhile, the police have paced their investigation after getting to know that the victims are the close relatives of Suresh Raina. A team of police and forensic experts have collected evidence from the spot. The police also took help from the dog squad to identify the attackers but failed to get any clue,” it added.

Suresh Raina has played 10 seasons for CSK in IPL. This will be the first time when the Indian cricketer won’t be part of CSK in the upcoming edition. Raina is the second-highest run-scorer in the history of IPL. In his illustrious IPL career, the southpaw has scored 5368 runs in 193 matches at an average of 33.3.
