It was a personal decision and I had to come back for my family. There was something that needed to be addressed immediately on the home front. CSK is my family too and Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) is very important to me and this was a tough decision” Raina was qouted as saying in Cricbuzz.

Raina also expressed his love for CSK and said that he might have retired from international cricket but he will play IPL for a few more years. He also hinted that he could make a comeback in the side ahead of IPL 2020.

I’ve been training even while quarantining here. You never know you might see me in the camp there again.” he added.

“I own the team, not the players”- N Srinivasan on Suresh Raina’s comeback

CSK owner N. Srinivasan, who earlier said some harsh words for Raina recently talked about Raina’s comeback to PTI. Srinivasan said that he is no one to decide whether Raina will make a comeback or not. He stated that the franchise never interfered into cricketing matters.

I have treated him like one (son). The reason for CSK’s success in IPL over the years is because of the fact that franchise never poked its nose into cricketing matters. India Cements is running cricket since ‘60s. I will always remain like that,” Srinivasan told news agency PTI.

Look, please understand, that that’s not my domain (whether Raina will come back or not) at all,” the former ICC and BCCI chief said. “We own a team, we own the franchise but we do not own players. Team is ours but players are not. I don’t own the players,” he added.
