Shoaib Akhtar Suggests New Nickname for Rohit Sharma


Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma has been the talking point for prime time shows lately. The entire nation is currently busy celebrating the Rohit Sharma’s Test Century in the longer format.  Sharma played a stellar knock of 176 runs off 244 deliveries. Although the Mumbaikar missed on his double ton by just 24 runs, he earned a new nickname from Pakistan’s former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar.

Shoaib Akhtar wholeheartedly praised the craft of Rohit Sharma, backing his skill and talent for the role he has been offered in the ongoing South Africa tests. He also laid stress that the fans still haven’t seen the best of Rohit Sharma in tests.

The whirlwind pacer concluded the discussion by stating that Rohit Sharma can score 1000 runs against England in the upcoming series surpassing Steve Smith Smith 774 run tally in the recent Ashes series.

Rohit should add G before his name

Shoaib Akhtar revealed that he realized the true potential of Rohit Sharma way back in 2013. He advised the batter to play the longer format with white ball attitude and advised Rohit to add G before his name that sums up to GRS = Great Rohit Sharma).

He advised Rohit to approach the game as the best batsman of India. He disclosed his conversation with Rohit where he told Rohit to develop some confidence and back his talent.

Akhtar looked happy that Rohit Sharma has finally understood his worth and the batter should consider himself as a big brand.

The South Africa series was seen as make or break series for the Mumbaikar. Much to everyone’s expectations, batter rose like a phoenix from Ashes and rewrote the history books. He has given chance ahead of openers like KL Rahul and Murali Vijay, who failed consistently in the recent series.
