Sachin Tendulkar Advises Indian Batsmen To Keep A Close Look At The Seam Of The Pink Ball

When it comes to seeking advice about batsmanship, who better than the God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar himself? The master blaster has come up with a few pieces of advice for the Indian batsmen ahead of the day-night test match.

Sachin reckons it’s very important for the Indian batsmen to watch the seam of the ball closely because the seam of the pink ball will be slightly different from that of the red ball.

There have been talks since SG is manufacturing the pink balls for the first time, the bowlers might find it a little difficult to grip the ball. But, Tendulkar doesn’t think so.

According to Tendulkar, it’s not that the Indian bowlers have not bowled with the SG balls before. SG is the brand which has been used in India for a long time in test match cricket.

Yes, the balls used so far have been red balls and this time, it’s going to be a pink ball, but the brand remains the same and hence, for the Indian bowlers in particular, there shouldn’t be any problem.

“I don’t see gripping challenges for Indian bowlers because all their life they have bowled with the SG ball.” Tendulkar was quoted saying by the Hindustan Times.

Tendulkar also talked about World Test Championship and emphasized on making the contest even between the bat and the ball to attract greater audience across the globe.

In Tendulkar’s view, the lack of competition in the purest form of the game is alarming and necessary measures should be taken on an urgent basis.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has scheduled the day-night test match with the motive of pulling more crowd to the stadium. The spectators’ attendance during the India vs South Africa test series was very low which prompted this move.
