The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed Javed as the Chief Financial Officer of the board after a meeting on Thursday. The appointment was done after a round of meeting conducted by the board members and the decision was approved via a circular resolution.
Javed is a Lahore based finance expert who is also a part of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Pakistan. He is also a Certified Public Accountant from the Virginia State Board of Accountancy. Besides, he also holds a Masters degree in the Business Administration from the States.
“With nearly 30 years of work experience, Javed is a seasoned finance professional with hands-on experience in all aspects of commercial operations, financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, financial and managerial accounting, internal and external audits, international taxation and ERP implementation,” the PCB said in a statement.
The PCB has been struggling a bit in the last few years and Javed’s appointment would give them positive hope as the chairman Ehsan Mani said, “I welcome Javed Murtaza to the PCB family and with the experience he brings, I am confident he will make a meaningful contribution to the organisation as we continue to aspire towards good governance, strong financial management and transparency.”
Murtaza will be taking charge of his position from August 3 i.e., next Monday.
