NBA comes up with NBA 2K player tournaments amid the season suspension

NBA 2K Game

The year 2020 has not been a good one for the whole world so far. Especially for sports fans all over the world as the coronavirus outbreak has taken the whole world on a toll, forcing all the sporting leagues to either cancel the season or postpone the season until the situation gets better in the coming months.

NBA was the first league to have suspended their whole season after one of the Utah Jazz players was tested positive of the coronavirus. The league had clarified that they are imposing a 30-days suspension on the season but the number of cases rising in the United States might force the officials to put the league on hold.

However, in the midst of this lockdown and silence NBA has come up with an NBA 2K tournament that is going to kick-start from April 3. As per the reports, the players will be participating in the tournament and the event will be broadcast on ESPN.

Each NBA team will have at least one representative who has the best gaming skills in the whole team will compete in the event. The NBA has also revealed the list of the players who will be participating in the NBA 2K tournament starting on April 3. The players who will be facing each other are as follows:

  • Kevin Durant vs. Derrick Jones Jr.
  • Trae Young vs. Harrison Barnes
  • Hassan Whiteside vs. Patrick Beverly
  • Donovan Mitchell vs. Rui Hachimura
  • Devin Booker vs. Michael Porter Jr.
  • Andre Drummond vs. DeMarcus Cousins
  • Zach LaVine vs. Deandre Ayton
  • Montrezl Harrell vs. Domantas Sabonis

Los Angeles Lakers’ Centre DeMarcus Cousins who has been injured for a while, will now get a chance to be back on the floor but virtually in the game, as the teams participate in the NBA 2K gaming tournament. Lakers’ star Anthony Davis is on the cover of the game this year replacing the reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo who was the cover for the same game in the 2K19 edition.
