NBA RUMOR: LA Lakers under the impression that NBA owners might want to finish the season

A rumor has sparked among the fans, amid the NBA season suspension as the Los Angeles Lakers are under the impression that the owners of the NBA are looking for finishing this season, as per Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times.

According to Turner, Lakers’ players were seen coming out of a conference after having a meeting with the team general manager and the head coach Frank Vogel with the apprehension that the NBA owners might want to conclude the 2019/20 regular season and the postseason, even if it goes as beyond late as June, July or August.

The Lakers are the number one team in the Western Conference so far has the best record in the West. They have also qualified for the playoffs after knocking down the Eastern Conference toppers Milwaukee Bucks 113-103 last week. In fact, Lakers have been incredibly good owing to their 49-14 record this season also makes them one of the tough contenders to win this year. The side led by the “King” Lebron James (25.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 10.6 assists) and Anthony Davis (26.7 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists).

As of now, the NBA will use this pandemic respite to determine the most effective steps to tackle the issue and it has also instructed all the players to get tested for COVID-19 even if they haven’t played with the Utah Jazz in their recent outings.

The NBA’s decision to suspend the season has seen notable developments also taking place across the other sports league, either getting canceled or postponed. The NHL suspended its season with immediate effect while the NCAA also canceled the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.

2020 has already been tough for the Lakers despite them winning the games and qualifying for the playoffs, as the tragic death of the Lakers’ legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigana hit the players and franchise very hard a month ago and now the season suspension is just another unfavorable development in the 2019-20 season.
