Lakers beat Washington Wizards 123-116 in the second scrimmage round

Los Angeles Lakers beat Washington Wizards by 123-116 points in their second scrimmage game ahead of the seeding round on Tuesday.

The Lakers decided to test its bench strength as they sat down big guns LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Kyle Kuzma who played superbly in the last scrimmage game. 

The Wizards were without their star player Bradley Beal but the Japanese forward Rui Hachimura top-scored with 19 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists. Due to his valour, Wizards finished with 69-65 in the first half of the game, still, four points lead in the match. 

Hachimura also became the standout performer for the Wizards in all three scrimmage rounds and also expected to emulate the same performance in the rest of the matches. 

From the Lakers side, the new acquisition JR Smith scored the highest 20 points on the night, including 5 rebounds. Guard Dion Waiters led the side in with 6 assists as he scored 18 points and 3 rebounds. 

Talking about the forms of the Wizards, the players are in good touch especially Shabaz Napier (16 points, 4 assists) and Troy Brown Jr. (12 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists)

The second half belonged to the Lakers especially Alex Caruso and with some of his solid ball-handling skills, he coordinated well with Caldwell Pope and Danny Green to rip through the Wizards and recorded 123-116 win. 

Caruso scored 17 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, while Danny Green followed with 13 points, 2 steals in the match. Barring the Lebron and co. Lakers roster is in a firing form when they meet LA Clippers in their opening game. 

Lakers also improved their scrimmage record to 2-1 before the seeding games starting from July 30. And  Washington Wizards will face Phoenix Suns in their opening match on July 31.
