Zion Williamson leaves NBA bubble due to family emergency

Zion Williamson had left the bio-security ‘bubble’ last week due to his family’s emergency has now announced of coming back and join his side ahead of the season restart.

Williamson is currently going through multiple tests and as the reports suggest, the rookie forward has tested negative of the coronavirus and he is all prepped to join the team at Walt Disney Arena, as reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The 20-year-old has still not joined the side as he is currently under quarantine and the exact date of him joining the side is still unclear. So he has been listed as day-to-day by the team management for the opening game against Utah Jazz when the season restarts from July 30.

The Pelicans released a statement informing the fans about the current form of the star forward, and also said that Williamson “fully intends to rejoin the team.”

If he tests negative twice after undergoing daily tests, he will still have to quarantine for four days before joining the team practice session.

Since Pelicans play their first match against the Utah Jazz on 30th, the rookie should be back in the ‘bubble’ by 25th-26th July. Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans play their first scrimmage game against Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday at the Walt Disney Arena.
